Place To Stay Category: B and B

  • We (Alison & Nick), want you to enjoy your stay and help make it as memorable as possible. As Angel House Bed & Breakfast has only two rooms with a capacity for just six guests, we have time to meet your needs and make you feel at home in our home. We understand that every guest has unique likes and dislikes. So just ask, if we can, we will! Both our guest rooms are large and well furnished with comfortable beds and modern en-suite facilities. We like our guests to return again and again and we know that by blending the luxury and comfort of a good hotel with the warm, friendly and personal atmosphere of a loved home, they do.

We are situated on the western side of Clee Hill. From our patio, the area of outstanding natural beauty that are The South Shropshire Hills spread out before you. As the sun goes down you will be treated to some of the most spectacular sunsets you will see. You will then see the lights of Ludlow begin to twinkle and you will see the spire of St Laurences lit up as well. Because we are 4 miles outside of Ludlow the light pollution is low so weather permitting you will see the night sky at its best. If you want something more atmospheric you can have a 3 minute drive up to the old quarry workings o Titterstone Clee.

From our patio or conservatory you are able to see the south Shropshire Hills and Ludlow laid out before you. You are able to see The Long Mynd and into Powys as well. A short drive away is Titterstone Summit. From here you have a 360 degree view. On a clear day you can see to the west Snowdonia , north east to the Peak District, east to the Black Country, south east to The Cotswolds, south to The Malverns and south west to the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. On a clear day it really does provide one of the most amazing views you will find anywhere.

We are ideally situated for use as a base for walkers of varying abilities  to discover The South Shropshire Hills. We are surrounded by footpaths and you can walk from our front door up to the top of Titterstone Clee and its amazing views. One set of guests found three different routes to The Bennets End our nearest pub. The Long Mynd is only a short drive from here. We carry a number of maps and walks to suit all needs. We are more than happy to come up with suggestions.

One of the most common things our guests say to us  is “We didn’t realise there was so much to do”. Our aim is to ensure you make the most of your time you are with us.

Activities range from Cycling to Trekking with Alpacas and everything in between.

We are situated 5 miles outside of Ludlow, described by Sir John Betjeman as probably the loveliest town in England. You can visit St Laurence’s one of the largest parish churches in England known as The Cathedral of The Welsh Marches. Marvel at the medieval carvings and stained glass windows. See if you can find the place where Prince Arthur, Henry VIII older brother were buried. Or take a walk along the River Teme on the bread walk. depending on the time of year you may see salmon jumping or kingfishers flying up and down

Stokesay Castle the best preserved medieval fortified manor house in the country with its iconic gate house is a must. There is also Berrington Hall with its Capability Brown Landscaped grounds or Attingham Park Nr Shrewsbury. this is the 5th most visited building owned by The National Trust.

We have not even mentioned Clun with its 15th century Pack Horse Bridge or Bridgenorth with its castle that leans at 15 degrees and its connection with the Severn Valley Railway.

What ever your interests there really is something for you .
