Place To Stay Category: Self Catering

  • At Mocktree Barns we have five, delightful and comfortable cottages sleeping from 2 to 6 people. The cottages are situated around a sunny, south-facing courtyard with garden furniture for outdoor eating and relaxation. All cottages have fully equipped kitchens with all you need to take advantage of the wonderful variety of fresh local food. You can add herbs from our garden to complete the feast.
There are glorious views toward Ludlow and the Shropshire Hills and country walks from the door in all directions. We garden organically and our bee-friendly cottage gardens are enjoyed by many guests. We sometimes have honey available from our own bees.
Pets are welcome at Mocktree Barns, but dogs must be kept on a lead in our grounds and the surrounding farmland. There is excellent off-lead walking just a short drive away in Mortimer Forest.
We are pleased to welcome children of all ages and are happy to provide a cot, high chair, baby bath and toys for our young visitors.
The delightful, medieval market town of Ludlow is just 7 miles away and the lovely cathedral cities of Hereford (Mappa Mundi) and Worcester (first class county cricket) make great days out. Acton Scott Working Farm Museum (the original BBC Victorian Farm) and Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site are easily accessible. There are several wonderful national trust properties to visit – Croft castle, Berrington Hall, Attingham Park and The Weir Garden. Stokesay, Wigmore, Ludlow, Clun and Hopton castles are all very close – a sure indication of the fascinating medieval history of this border area where England meets Wales
